SGOA

The State Games of America (SGA) is the premier program of the National Congress of State Games. Georgia State Games is a member of the National Congress of State Games.

If you are a Georgia resident and you won gold, silver or bronze medal in the 2022 or 2023 Georgia Games Championships, you are eligible to compete at the 2024 SGA.

What is the SGA and who can participate?

The State Games of America is an Olympic-style event featuring competition between State Games medal winners (gold, silver, bronze) from across the nation. There are currently 31 states conducting or organizing statewide sports festivals known as State Games.

When is the event held?

The event is hosted event is hosted every two years. The 2024 SGA will be held in San Diego, California.

The 2024 State Games of America will be held in San Diego, California.

What sports are offered?

The number of sports hosted in a State Games competition varies depending on the host city. In 2024, over 40+ sports will be offered and the SGA Committee hopes to continue to offer these numbers of sports.
