SPORT AMBASSADOR

   Overview

The Georgia Sports Foundation is searching for High School Ambassadors to help promote the Georgia Games. The Georgia Sports Foundation is a non-profit organization with the primary function of organizing the Georgia Games Summer Championships. These programs attract more than 10,000 athletes from the State of Georgia, who compete in over 40 different sports. GG operates with the mission of promoting personal development, education, physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship to Georgia citizens of all ages and abilities.

Application Deadline: September 30, 2025

   Responsibilities

  • Actively promote and market the Georgia Games to fellow students, coaches, teachers, staff, and your community as a whole.
  • Properly display promotional materials within your school
  • Make presentations about the Georgia Games at seasonal sports meetings in your school
  • Inform athletic coaches within your school about the Georgia Games  
  • Educate athletes within your school of the benefits of Georgia Games participation
  • Responsibly promote Georgia Games through school social media outlets
  • Create effective ways to publicize the Georgia Games brand 
  • Communicate with Georgia Games staff about the progress of ongoing promotions
  • Volunteer for a minimum of 8 hours at Georgia Games Summer Championships events (more information to come)

   Speaker Series

GG Ambassadors are able to take part in the monthly speaker series featuring professionals from the sport industry, college coaches, and experts on the recruiting process.

Anticipated speakers may include:

  • Matt Ryan, Vice President, GA Tech & USA Team Handball Captain and Olympian
  • Director of Parks & Recreation
  • Kevin Cummings, President National Congress of State Games, Boston Marathon Finish Line Coordinator and NFL New England Patriots Stat Crew
  • Director of Communications at USA Swimming
  • Head Coach, Track & Field at Regis College

   Qualifications

  • A Georgia high school student-athlete who has competed in or intends to compete in the Georgia Games
  • Outgoing, self-motivated, and enthusiastic
  • Willing to embrace the Georgia Games mission
  • Basic understanding of marketing principles and ability to use social media to advance the Georgia Games brand 

   Application Process

  • All interested High School students meeting the qualifications listed may apply.
  • Ambassadors will be selected based on the effort, content, and creativity of their application.
  • Approval and Signature from High School Principal or Athletic Director require after selection
  • Chosen Ambassadors will begin in the beginning of October and finish towards the beginning of June.
